Passionate about helping you

Welcome to Empowered Perspectives Counseling. I’m so glad you’re here.

Whether you’re navigating a major life change, healing from loss or trauma, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to do it alone. I'm here to provide a safe, supportive space where we can explore what’s weighing on you and work together to create meaningful change. Seeking support is a powerful act of courage—and I honor that strength in you.

My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I blend clinical insight with genuine human connection, showing up as both a trained professional and a real person.

In our sessions, you can expect a balance of empathy and honesty, structure and flexibility. I’ll listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and offer gentle challenges when needed—always with the goal of helping you feel more empowered, more understood, and more aligned with the life you want to live.

Expertise and experience

Professional Qualifications

Education

I hold a Master's degree in counseling and psychology from Troy University with undergraduate studies in alcohol and drug counseling.

Certifications

As a licensed therapist, I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness practices to provide holistic support to my clients.  I have completed Gottman Method for Couples levels one and two; am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma; and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

Experience

My clinical background spans over a decade and includes extensive experience in grief and loss, trauma, addiction recovery, and mindfulness-based interventions.  My passion and dedication has afforded me the honor of partnering with individuals, couples, and families navigating life's most difficult transitions with compassion and clarity.

Specializations

My passion lies in walking alongside adults and couples as they navigate life's most meaningful - and often most challenging - moments.  I specialize in helping clients work through grief, trauma, anxiety, and relationship difficulties with compassion, clarity, and evidence-based tools.  Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply seeking more balance and fulfillment, I offer a supportive space where healing can begin and new perspectives emerge.  I aim to empower each person and couple I work with to make intentional, meaningful choices that lead to a more connected and fulfilling life.

Approach

I provide a grounded, compassionate space where individuals and couples can feel seen, heard, and supported. My therapeutic style is collaborative and client-centered—I believe in walking alongside you, not in front of you. Drawing from evidence-based practices like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), I tailor each session to your unique needs and goals. Whether we're processing grief, healing from trauma, or strengthening your relationship, I aim to help you gain new insights and build practical tools for meaningful, lasting change.

Values

Empowerment: Healing happens when you feel safe, supported, and in control of your own story.

Authenticity: I bring my whole self into the room—open, honest, and compassionate—and I invite you to do the same.

Connection: I value the healing power of relationships—both therapeutic relationships and the connections you build with yourself and others.

Growth: I honor the courage it takes to grow and change, and I’m here to support your progress every step of the way.

Respect: Every person is unique, and I celebrate your individuality, culture, and lived experiences.
